A new medicinal honey that could help cancer patients maintain white blood cell counts during chemo therapy is now available in Ireland.

Developed after 30 years of research by Dr Alexander Goroshit, a Russian Israeli microbiologist, Life Mel has been shown to boost the white blood cell count of cancer patients suffering from neutropenia and chemotherapy induced anaemia.

Neutropenia is a blood disorder that lessens the number of infection fighting white blood cells in the body.

In trials in Israel, 40 per cent cancer patients suffering neutropenia who took 5g of honey each day for 5 days from the start of each new chemotherapy treatment, suffered no further episodes of neutropenia.

Life Mel is available in Ireland from select health stores nationwide or from breatheonline.ie, contact us at 01-201 1201 or info@breatheonline.ie
